One mans junk is another mans treasure.  

Take stuff that you don’t use/need or have out grown and turn it into cash by having a garage/basement sale or posting it for sale on craigslist or eBay. Even though you may have a better chance of selling your items on eBay your net earnings will be less because you have to pay eBay, Paypal, and you have to ship the item. In a bad economy many people are seeking bargains and are more willing to buy used items to save money. 

I have set up a shopping cart on one of my web sites and I’m going to advertise it locally on craigslist as a garage sale. It’s a win/win situation. I clean up my house, get rid of a bunch of junk, and make a little money on the side.
